This thread is an extension of the "storing gold in alliance coffers" thread.
maybe this bank could be located where the loch at the center of the map is now. the main bank would be GM run, have infinite gold, and a 0% interest rate. Scattered around the map could be alliance banks with adjustable interest rates.

maybe a small one. the idea is to let newer players experience banking without bias (h?'s bank would probably not serve white company's members) or heavy interest.

that's true but it probably wouldn't matter who did the money there would be some bias, so having the GM's controll it would be wise

I'm not keen on a world bank run by GMs. This is supposed to be a mostly player driven game. Once the GMs have a world bank, how long before they begin buyouts of GC (General Chariots) or OIG (Orc International Group)? Or when you want a loan for a shovel ready project, they just sit on the coin and wonder where it is?

That is the point. Why have one central bank, when multiple players/alliances can each set up their own?
You don't trust them, then don't put your money in them.
Why let players put money into what is essentially a rabbithole?
So that game mechanics can protect their money for them?
Banks should not be immune to robbery or player fraud.
