I am afraid that Deranzin's post do seem to move way off topic. At first I thought that it was just his way of expressing himself but then I noticed that it happens all to frequently and usually in threads that hold views that he doesn't agree with. Additionally he always tends to personalise and enflame issues and the above post is an example of that.
I could give a number of factual examples of this but that would derail this thread.
Getting back on subject as to why are we (you)are all fighting. You are fighting because players like Bonfyr Verboo of TVM, Sir Brad of NC and KP of H? want you to fight. Their idea of fun is what you are experiencing in Illy now. They want Illy to be a war game in which they have more or less a good advantage built over a period time to attack, belittle, siege and humiliate other players. They do not value the crafting, marketing and roleplaying aspects of the game as much as they do "Hard Core" warmongering. Why is that?
Well , for me , Deranzin summed it up the other day in GC when he stated :
"
It's fun. I get a big kick out of it"
|
And this by another person
whose only contribution is a personal attack .?. ahahahhahahah
Ossian, I told you before that you need to level up your trolling in order to annoy me.
In the end of the day any person that heeds the words of an accountless troll is worth whatever misinformation he gets, so I am totally cool with all your petty insults and lies.
For example, and just for laughs, let us see the so called quote ... it is false for many reasons :
1) It is obviously not copied from GC
as it lacks a time stamp AND CONTEXT. Next time if you want some credibility use a screenshot or at least place a couple of lines more.
2) I never use small sentences in any language (as evidenced from my posts). On the odd cases I do, I never use one full stop, but three of them or a comma ... learn to observe little clone.
3) I cannot have used the phrase "get a big kick out of it" since I was taught British English and I am not familiar with the use of most of the slang. I understand their meaning, but I do not use them myself ... except in the odd cases of making a pun.
4) and last but not least : I was not even referring to the war ... I was talking about something else that I enjoy.
So, next time you want to try to pretend you have a quote, do step up the act, ok .?.
Now are you people done with your personal attacks and derailing the topic, so we can actually discuss anything .?.

Just accept your fate, and the inevitability of defeat. You've had a great run as the #1 alliance of the server, and now you're facing your biggest challenge yet.

Wow ! What an honest outburst. I applaud you for doing away with the pretentious stuff about your alliance (I refuse to call what you turned it into by anything having "crow" in it) "protecting smaller alliances" and being "peace-loving" and stuff like that
which other people that follow you ACTUALLY believe in.
|
Since when is expressing an honest opinion necessarily equatable to an outburst?
I'm not going to justify the above with any further comment...
Deranzin wrote:
You explicitly declare that you do not care about what happens to others, especially small alliances (bolded part 1). And you clearly state that your goal is hunger/ambition for power driven by jealousy. (bolded part 2)
Bravo ! If anyone ever had any doubts about what is going on, you laid it out perfectly.
|
That you believe this, actually speaks way more about your own mindset than mine.
I think this war brings some fun and excitement to the game, for all parties including those abstaining from involvement in the war.
So what exactly are my needs/ambitions?
Ok, so bring it on!
So far I've learned heaps about PvP mechanics and strategies in illyriad. Say what you wish about NC, they're awesome tutors!
Deranzin wrote:
And two things more, since you seem to find the coming war amusing (even if you do not seem to have been in one):
One:
One has to wonder
how the members of your peaceful alliance, which you mostly gathered under the benevolent credo of "live long and prosper and maybe fight at tourneys",
will feel and think for dragging them into something that amuses YOU and furthers your OWN agenda.
It is a totally different thing to enlist at a military alliance where not only you are expected to tune up for war, but that is exactly the reason you went there in the first place and
it is totally different to enlist in a "safe heaven" of an alliance under the wings of the most peaceful (and large) Coalition of the game and just play the game as you like
in peace.

This is entirely based on your own assumptions and has no basis whatsoever in reality.
Deranzin wrote:
Two:
As a person that likes history, you remind me of those total hypocrites that shout for war and more military service, when they themselves didn't serve in the army or do not have children to send to the war. But that is just my impression on your type of leadership.
Needless to say that the above are just my opinion, but hey, some people seem to not get it, so I have to repeat it again and again.
|
And there comes the ad hominem!
These kinds of comments are uncalled for, off topic and like 90% of your post... built entirely on baseless assumptions. Why can't we just play the game and have some fun, without all the manipulative yammering and childish character attacks??
And FYI... I've actually seen the horrors of war in RL, and I'm neither pro nor anti war. That said, I would very much like it if you could for once adhere to the topic, and refrain from making sensitive and potentially insulting comments about people you don't know in RL. Remember folks, illyriad is simply a game. Thank you!!

maybe this should be called the perma-sat war. remember as the game ages u never know who is actually controlling an account as many are being prema-sat and often with 2 main accounts and 4 permasat accounts a person can be in several alliances. its seems harm and nc didnt see the danger of this especially when doing punishment to bane. they made their bed, now they have to lay in it. its a new age in illyriad...u have to adjust with the times...wiggles her behind at nc and harm! Remember to get rid of a perma sat account the only way is to force the main accounts from the game! dip attacks become very important....time management becomes the key! watch out for small accounts as they can perma-sit the large. no one should be safe in this war, people are using neutral alliances to hide main accounts! good luck and have fun!...any body know how to hack chatzy accounts? maybe time to switch to a different communication system?

In between some General Knowledge facts for readers about your three full stops and British English.

I won't bother replying to your other invective, but I will address the above.
Let the record show that we tried to talk this one out and avoid it, because, mark my words, by the time this war is over, nobody is going to like it...

/me "nods"
This of course, is best evidenced by the fact that you've deliberately chosen to quote the "provocative" part of my post. With no reference whatsoever to my other remarks!
No followup on the disclosure that H? directors were approached repeatedly over the past months... no acknowledgement for my call to reason... and no further comment on your argument about "what's best for the game"...
And I should add; complete disregard for my comment about these PR campaigns being old, boring and tiresome! As evidenced by your renewed attempt at masking the truth, while attempting to make yourself look better than others.

The way I see it we'll be having fun until one of the sides surrenders

Just an FYI-- I think that you are completely deluded if you think that your victory is "inevitable". I put my money on H? and our allies winning this war without a doubt. And I'm not just saying that. I empirically believe that. But I believe it will take 18 or so months of really tough fighting to get there and I don't think that is good for anyone. Trust me, we've been in 6 month wars and everyone is tired. You haven't. War fatigue is real and 18 months will see many players and alliances leaving because of it. H? and our allies will not be amongst those, unfortunately for you.

I think its clear that you're trying to dilute my words, distill them into a special substance and feed it to the masses; in an attempt to generate sympathy for your side, while simultaneously deluding the other side into believing we have no chance of winning this.
I think I smell an 'attempt' at brewing some powerful koolaid!
Nice try Karl Rove!

Oh, please at least READ instead of going "blah blah all the way to"
I didn't say "

Bring what on .?. It was not a threat you know. It is the simple fact that since you go into a war, you will learn your way into it and the differences it has from a tournament.

Considering that my assumptions were that "Crows are peaceful" and that you recruited people under exactly that peaceful mentality, maybe you want to retract that these assumptions have "no basis whatsoever in reality" .?. I thought that uCrow, like most of the CrowFed were de facto peaceful, but if you, one of their leaders explicitly tells me otherwise, I am forced to believe that my impression on uCrow was not true.

Considering that in the past few pages I've had three people (one of them with an abandoned account and the other one a clone ) attack me with fully off topic posts and no facts what-so-ever,
I'd say that your sensitivities are pretty selective.
For my comment on your war mentality though, I accept that it was inappropriate and I apologize for it.

Ok, except its not. This is simply what you made of it.
Feel free to reread my post on page 7.

Allow me to quote you...
"the obvious fact
that facing other players in a good natured contest over the control of specific map spots during tournaments (when everyone piles troops on those spots and nowhere else ) is a totally different process of trying to hit live moving players and their whole alliances." - Deranzin

There you go again, trying to paint everything black and white. Nice try, but I'll reiterate that your assumptions are just assumptions. Machinations devised to promote your agenda...
Simple research would enlighten you. For a good example, please
read our alliance profile. Also note that we haven't been recruiting a while...
I'm not a moderator, nor the person who created this topic. So keeping things on topic is your own responsibility. It is however very frustrating to participate in any discussion where the "H? propaganda machine is so heavily active". Honestly, when I want to torture myself with dumb political feuds devoid of any substance, I personally tune into that Fox channel on TV.
Don't expect me to respond to anything if you insist on quoting me out of context with the intent purpose of bending my words. Quoting me to derail the conversation towards a subject discussed on other threads
(like Angrim's latest) is also too boringly transparent.
I admit I've gone off topic myself right now, but I do hope this rant helps keep the discussion in context going forward.
Anyways, I accept your apology Deranzin; and I'm quite confident that you can imagine how people are often particularly touchy and sensitive about life threatening experiences.

I suspect that after you have some more experience of war in Illy, you might rethink that statement. I applaud you on taking actions to do what you think will be fun. I think everyone should try to have fun. But I strongly suspect that you may be disappointed with the fun level of the result after a while...
