That's the main reason I would decline. Plus such an exercise would burn a lot of gold and resources, and my sov would be on troops instead of items. I wouldn't want the tournament supplies to run low. |

Are you guys talking about the Cooking Tournament?
I thought we stopped using troops in Illyraid a long time ago.

May i ask, just for arguments sake, how many tournaments have there been, in the 5 years this game has been live? I know the last one had just ended when I started playing. So thats 9 months. What if the next one isn't for another 9 months? Or 12 months...and so on. So just keep building and building and eating gold? For a year? 2 years? Seems like a waste....

Hence my comment, if you want to continue the petty excuses for not wanting a war or fun, such as tournaments, or things get nasty, or such, then stay in Elgea and wait for your tournaments. If you are keen to test your skills and wits and want some actually real fun, move to BL. Let Elgea remain as it is and let us all stop trying to change the way they want to play there. I am just hoping that those with that mindset stay in Elgea and do not try impose that same boring mindset on those people who have moved to BL.

You moved to BL, but what exactly are you doing there?
I'm not writing this in criticism, just in curiosity:
You have collected in SIN some of the best military minded, PVP players in the game (some would say: "The Best").
You had 1 war against RE which I gather you enjoyed and have naturally won.
Now what?
Who are you going to fight next?
if you have a secret plan, then by all means keep it to yourself, but it seems to me that if you really want to war, you're best interests lie in cultivating your own opponants. Right now SIN seems to be deterring war in BL. Who will dare to fight you?
In fact, who is there to fight?

Thank you for reinforcing my point about the difference between Elgean and BL mentaliy. You still dwell in the Elgean way of things and hence I repeat best stay there till you start to think about this as a fun game. The RE vs SIN war was a fun war as far as I understand it with no victors and no massive humiliation or surrender demands, and no account destruction. As to the secret plans, to my knowledge there are none. Again an Elgean way of thinking making everything seem SINister. We have had a few wars here now and many have been arranged. Fun has been had and lessons learned. We try not to sit and look for threats under stones and make secret deals with people to try and ensure dominance. We know we only occupy a small part of BL and we are very happy with that. |

I agree with that Grag said, though Halcyon might have a point that SIN has perhaps developed its military slightly faster than some of the other alliances in the BL. I'm really not sure. Our only experience in fighting another BL alliance was with RE, and the bulk of their military was centered around maybe 6-7 players.
One point about the RE war; I would not characterize it as a "fun war" in the sense that it was tournament-like or staged simply to purge troops. It was waged for strategic purposes. It was "fun" in the sense that 1) it didn't become a pig-pile and have a bunch of escalation, 2) neither side took any kind of self-righteous posture and tried to sway public sentiment one way or another, 3) it was fun trash-talking in GC along with the blow-by-blow of the war, 4) when 1 through 3 happen in a war in Illy, it's FUNN! It was just nice to have a one-on-one fight because, after all, no one else really had a stake in that war, anyway.
