Replying to Mitu's statement and reiterating Ghannima's statement:
the 20k limit is small indeed, but it is as Ghannima says. It allows for the smaller players to join in and not feel pressured to supply way more than they can handle. At the same time, it allows the bigger players, whom we know are more than capable of dropping 20k troops with ease, to conserve their armies in the case of other business to tend to or the possible arrival of a DEV tourney. It's a win-win situation as I see it. One way around this particular limit though is simple, have an alternate account send another 20k and then you'd be fielding 40k troops. 20k is the set limit, that is all.

Why not have a larger game? Limited to those smaller players who would consider your 20k idea a large force. They would perhaps need to temporarily quit an alliance, but they will be helped by a larger player within their alliance. The larger helper would not be able to directly participate in the game, but could offer res, wisdom and whatever the 'sandbox' allows, but no direct involvement. With this idea, not only would there be a smaller player winner, but the larger player would receive a certain standing by being the mentor of that winning player. This could be a 'hold-the-flag' tourney, or a scouting, spying tourney. It would work for any I believe. The larger mentors would have the added responsibilities of not allowing the games to devolve into all out war, since alliances not accustomed to working near each other may unintentionally 'brush shoulders'. They should be chosen carefully.

Well done for coming up with this idea. Hope it takes off. To all those complaining about the army size, if you want to use bigger armies and make it impossible for the smaller players to take part go and start your own competition. This tournament was set up to accommodate the smaller players as well it seems and thus is a fantastic initiative.

Everything has been established now, I believe. Everything except who actually wants to participate. With that said, I say this:
All who wish to join this endeavor should immediately begin posting here in the forums or mailing either Ghannima or myself(I would prefer in-game mailing). This is so that we can get a good grasp of the number of participants and then proceed to split them into teams. Thank you all for your support

As a derided warmonger, I must admit that I love this idea and I applaud the effort to keep it at a scale that allows smaller players to participate. It is the smaller ones who are likely to have little to no experience in Illy PvP and I am so happy to see this going forward.

Since this is to be a WoW based tourney, once sieges land it will end quickly due to how easily walls tend to fall. It will be difficult to stop a siege in time without a seriously concerted effort. The way this is set up, with one target city on each side, it will be a real test of coordination and the generals have their work cut out for them. Good luck to all participants.

to jcx....This is not complaining, this is suggesting. Perhaps my limited knowledge of Illy wargames has contributed to this misunderstanding.

The time for deciding whether you want to join or not is over at Nov. 21 00:00:00 GMT. Mail either Ghannima or myself for invites to alliance
