"vs Animals" modifier - does it work?

         I've asked that question before, about a year ago, and the consensus was that the "vs Animals" weapons modifier doesn't do anything. Unfortunately, that thread seems to have disappeared, or the search function is broken, so I'm opening a new thread.
        
        
         Have weapons with "vs Animals" been fixed, or are they still useless?
