Dear devs,
Maybe I am being thick or didn't notice but it seems that a whole bunch of system related emails have gone AWOL. Some of these mails were being used to track things like combats. I'd be most grateful for confirmation of the email storage expiry policy and whether of not it has recently changed. I am aware that it has caused problems for some and that at least 1 petition has been lodged on this subject.
Many thanks
Dung

I believe all system mails expire after a week or so.

All "mails" not from players only last about a week.

When did all this come into being?
Maybe my memory is playing tricks with me but I could swear a whole bunch of them were kept for longer?

I know it's been like that for battle reports since I started playing. And scouting reports too. I don't have any particular memories about the other types of mail. Alliance invitations and acceptances are considered player mail and kept forever.

I can confirm that nothing has changed on the overnight igm delete function since the last (2012?) change.

dung, if you really want to keep these reports, forward them to yourself or an alt, that turns them into player IGMs instead of system

I think I can now understand what has happened...
Originally we relied on certain scouting reports which were forwarded across the alliance (in the process becoming player emailed stored indefinately). This is where the confusion has arisen. Many thanks for the responses. I am just getting old and obviously was having a senior moment.

I forward scouting reports to myself if I want to keep them. I also retitle them such as "this is the ancient oak near X city." Because of the senior moment thing.
