Hi all,
i was thinking that, actually, our armies have limited movements. So i wanted to create a topic to think about it: would it be interesting to enchance the movements possibilities of armies, and if yes, how to do this.
i know that GM's are already working on many other projects, but i thought that would be great to have already some thoughts abouts this subject.
here are some ideas, i dont know if these are good or not, but im aware that each one can significally change the actual battle strategies... .
1) Camps:
being able to create a camp on a reinforced square. the main aim of the camp would be to be able to give new orders to the armies that are reinforcing the camp. we can imagine that camps cost an hourly unkeep, and that each player is limited to have 1 camp only. (hourly unkeed wouldnt increase with the distance from the owning city).
maybe camps could be upgraded: defense (ex: wooden walls). need to build a magic center to receive orders from other cities. maybe a camp could also have ressource buildings like a city.
Camps could be reinforced by any allies, and they could also give new orders if they have the good research. camps could be used by caravans for trade. maybe camps could be reinforced by diplomats too.
camps would be a bit like cities, but cant produce weapons, and no need to have war engines to attack it and take it. if an ennemy wins a battle on a camp, he could use it directly if he is already able to build a camp, or raze it.
Edit: wont be possible to build a camp on a square touching a city or on a sovereign square (not to siege from a camp).
2) Give new orders when reinforcing an ally:
we could imagine that if the reinforced ally and yourself have the required technology/magic power (as fo camps), you could give new orders. you could ask your wizzards to send an instantaneous magic message to your ally, to give new orders (like a phone :p).
or, we can imagine messengers could be able to report new orders to your armies (travel time) when they are reinforcing an ally (but not when they are reinforcing a simple square)
3) Being able to ask your army to land on the target at a precise day/hour.
this would allow allies to attack a target simultaneously.
for exemple: my army can arrive at 18h30 pm, but i ask them to arrive at 22h pm to attack simutaneosly with an ally, making one big army.
These are the ideas i wanted to share. im sure im not the first one to have these ones, so lets think about what would be good or not, and maybe add some suggestions.
