Nothing strange about this at all. As best as I can tell, the first time DB Leadership learned about your situation was when you posted on this forum. And it looks like Metallicus immediately worked to get a handle on things for you. This is not strange, this is effective and wise alliance leadership by Metallicus. [Aside: Kudos to Metallicus and DB.

Geoffroy (and all other newer alliances), the best, most effective, method for handling disputes with other alliances is this:
1) Very First Action should be to contact the Leadership of the alliance that is attacking you. Look at the Alliance Page for that alliance to see who they want to be thier Foreign Minister. If you can not tell who the Foreign Minister is, then contact the Alliance Founder or other named Contact.
Your message should be calmly worded and you should be respectful. Sometimes this is difficult because you will feel that you are the victim and you might be angry or upset so it is important to take a moment to relax and write your note carefully with as little emotion in it as you can manage.
You should provide as many details as possible. If you have a Battle Report (or diplo confession), copy/paste that into your note...it will greatly assist the Alliance Leaders in resolving the situation quickly and with the least pain to everyone. Otherwise, remember the basics of journalism: tell Who, What, When, Where, How, and Why.
2) If you have tried the above, but the attacking Alliance ignores you or insists that will continue attacking you...Then bring the matter to the attention of other alliances. Ideally, you will contact alliances (privately by mail) that you have already established NAP or Confederation with to solicit their assistance in resolving the matter.
3) If you have tried #2 (or do not have NAP/Confed partners), then you should bring the matter to this forum for the general public to consider.
I wish to stress the importance of trying to resolve the situation privately first and foremost. Doing so shows that you are respectful and that is more likely to get you respect in return. Also, things said in public can make it harder for the other side to work with you because they might feel like they will "loose face" if they are seen to compromise in public. Some people mistakenly think compromise = weakness.
I also wish to stress the importance of establishing NAP/Confed partners _before_ trouble befalls you. Doing this will discourage many agressors from starting trouble to begin with. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
Finally, make sure you behave, too. In other words, avoid attacking (including killing caravans), scouting, spying, stealing, etc from active players, whether they are in an alliance or not. This will eliminate any retalitory attacks against you. And this will make it easier for you to establish NAP/Confed with other alliances.
Good luck and good gaming!
