I think they flipped coins at the end,... and the NPC just had bad luck.
Or Fluffy really has some spell for magically influencing coins in midair Wink

Do the commanders recover the 99 health points faster than it would take to resurrect the commander if they had died?

I am more curious as to which would net a faster return to full health.  (2 per hour base means at least 2 full days, right?)

That would depend on how high the commander's level at death is.  Bigger cmdrs take longer to resurrect.
 
But 100% health is not important.
