Topic: Some good Chatter is all thats the Matter Posted: 16 Mar 2013 at 23:54 |
Ok so I haven't found anything of interest in the forums lately which prompted this post--
Tournaments are my favorite part of the game what kind of Ideas do you guys have for the next one?
Me personally I was disappointed in Feb to see no anniversary tournament.
Id like to see the next one be another individual based one rather than alliance wide. I know Im probably in the minority here but I like seeing how I stack up - even against my own alliance mates. The best bragging is when its someone that in any other case cant hit you back and they gotta let that fester that they lost until who knows when lol .

2 sugestions:
->NPC's ataking u're town (only the ones with armies encamped on standing stones)
->Harvesting, exploiting the new skinners/cotters/herbalists/miners, there whould be some special NPC's (that people would hunt and harvest it's stufs), mines that people would try to secure and harvest, and herbs that like minerals people would also try to secure and harvest, with the extra problem of overharvesting.
both ideas would be individual players WITH a reward to the best aliance also, meaning anyone could participate (including aliances themselves :D )
my 2 coins :D

Duke, you could always organize a tournament like the Illy Olympics.

How about a faction related tournament?
If you kill so many of a certain enemy factions troops then you win the tournament for x faction.
There could be as many winners as there are factions. You could do it both individual and alliance based.
Would be a cool way to start factions off anyways.

Or a faction related tourney that takes into account the relations that different factions have with each other? Most of the factions seem to dislike other factions...

I like the idea of and individual based tournament but that makes it really difficult as well as there will have to be many more tournament based squares to make it fair for all players.
An alliance based tournament makes it easier to participate for most players though, and after this war many of the alliances that did not take part also have a chance at winning, due to alliances being involved in the war being slightly unprepared for a tournament due to commitments to the war.
Either way it will be interesting. Bring it on.

Orr If by winning a faction you would be awarded one ofthe factions strongest units :)
Gives me chills thinking I could possibly own a dracolith or something.
One of the great things about the tournies is the prizes- i mean especially since the big war- how many ppl still have praetorians? Having unique units is nice

I think it would be interesting to have a tourney in which the prizes were not just given to individual players, but rather to individual cities, but where you can use troops from other cities to support another's aims.
This would help smaller accounts compete as they could use all their forces just to compete with a single city, were as larger accounts would be more likely to compete with all their cities in the hope to get a greater share of the prizes.
