Hali, in his usual corner of the tavern sat pondering the days rather peculiar turn of events. Expecting to be mourning a dwarf they had instead miraculously gained one from beyond the grave, though Hali still wondered if Selos would be the same as before.

He wanted to ponder on the resurrection more but knew there were more pressing things at hand, who to vote for next. The time for action was surely at hand and he knew he couldn't sit on the fence any longer. He finished off his ale then set off with his mind set on finding any clues to base his next vote off, though he also thought it best to keep an eye on zombie Selos just as a precaution.

Selos was alive again... but he wasn't all there. His thoughts were muddled, and while he could speak, it was difficult.  His memories of the time as a spirit were faint... it felt like he was forgetting something that he should tell the Queen.

He didn't feel the need to go and drink himself to Oblivion and back like normal, so instead he just shambled around the town with a slight limp, staring out and watching life flow by through half-closed eyes.

THen something in his head clicked, and he was standing in a darkened tunnel. Torches on the walls flickered, blowing back in an unnatural wind as miners ran back up the tunnel, away from the horrid creatures they had woken. Selos himself was rushing down the tunnel along with the other guards, sword drawn and a vicious warcry echoing in his throat.

He slashed at the crimson-skinned tentacled creatures, severing tentacles with each swing. One of his fellow guards got sucked into the blackness, a scream the last sound he made. Selos realized this was a losing battle, and called out to the other guard to start retreating. before they got a few feet his fellow dwarf too fell to the beasts.

That was when he turned and ran. "Seal the tunnel!" He shouted out as he neared the beggining of the doomed shaft. Then the others collapsed the support and let tons of rock drop onto the demons chasing them.

Selos gasped in pain as he jolted back to the present, torn free from the memory he'd been forced to relive. His face was pressed down into the cobblestones and an older guard was on top of him holding him down. Selos could just barely see a curious crowd gathered around him.

"Urgh... What happened?" He tried to grumble out, but the words were barely understandable even to him.

"You just went crazy, started slashing at thin air and screaming. You nearly killed three people before we got here, they barely avoided your sword." The guard on his back growled. "Why?"

"I don't know... it was like I was back in the mines when we broke through the Silversteel vein and the demons came out."

Only then did the revived dwarf realize that he was ixing up the past and the present, his muddled mind realizing that he wasn't completely whole, not himself.

Huddled beside the fire in the subdued atmosphere of the tavern common room, Forraid consoled herself with several tankards of XXX Ale. No one she had tried to talk to had been any help in raising her mood or clearing the confusion of the events of the last few days. She had seen Nicanor Thundercheek leaving at a gallop shortly after dawn. His moony presence and obsession with the Queen would not be missed--nor would his snoring, which penetrated the thin wall between their rooms.

More and more had just disappeared, with all expecting they were humans. Perhaps with their departure, the killings would cease!

There was no rational explanation for the reanimation of Selos, the guard of the deep mine. It was almost as though he had unfinished business in the mines.

Not one dwarf in this town mattered to Forraid. At least that sniveling musician had spent more time drunk than singing, and she counted that a vast improvement. The Queen was moping around and her mother was off her nut, she was. Ithilwein hardly tried to ply her trade, but cheering up the patrons of the tavern was beyond dwarvish ability, so her identity was likely honest, if not ethical.

Before the fire died, Forraid called it an early night. "At least with that Thundercheek gone, I can sleep without the pillow over my head tonight!" she said to the room as she headed up the stairs. "Though I will have my axe beside my bed as always," she muttered to herself.

Mayflower sat on the edge of her bed and stared into empty space, thinking about everything that had happened. It was shocking how much could take place in such a short time. Just a week before, she had been sitting in the tavern enjoying the company of her friends, but it seemed like a year had passed since.

After the death of Selos, and the even more shocking revelation of NightOwl's treachery, Mayflower had spent some time in an abandoned mine, enjoying the feeling of solid rock all around her. She loved being underground, as much as an elf loved being in the forest.  It helped her to refresh herself and gather her thoughts.

When she had walked back into town feeling slightly better, she learned that she had missed another vote. While she apologized to Queen Auraya for her absence, she was secretly glad that she did not have to choose a dwarf to be put to death. Another unexpected bit of good news was the resurrection of Selos. Mayflower was glad that the dwarf had regained his life, but the reborn Selos seemed a bit different. He had been behaving strangely, but Mayflower thought it was probably a side effect of being killed and "unkilled".

However, it seemed that there was always a dark side to good news. The tavernkeeper had let her know that there was yet another vote coming up. This time though, Mayflower had vowed to be strong and do what was needed. Her hesitation to vote might cost the lives of other dwarfs. Having made up her mind, Mayflower hopped off the bed and went out of the tavern to look for Queen Auraya. She prayed that her choice would be the right one.

Mokas job around is very difficult. She has to be invisible so she keeps hiding and acting like a ghost. But Queen Auraya knows...She must be very careful!

Ithilwien, not feeling like going about her normal business, looked around the bar trying to make sense of this. NightOwl had killed Ozy and then someone else killed NightOwl and then someone brought Ozy back from beyond. Thes had not been seen but Ozy's resurrected corpse was trying to get into her dwelling, why would it do that if it had no recollection of events past. Forraid had been asking alot of questions, i suppose to help herself form a decision on whom to vote for but for what ith could tell she had not been successful with her inquires. Mayflower came back to town today after having been conveniently absent for the happenings the night before, maybe she was involved somehow.

"Without evidence to sway my opinion away from Thes, with her abscence since the last vote and the odd behavior with Ozy's corpse at her home i will hold to my previous vote" is what Ithilwien reports to Queen Auraya.

As an after thought though Ith asks the queen if she has seen Moka because she has not seen her lately

[Sometimes I don't have time to post during the day. So ya gotta be a bit patient before suggesting 'I'm being quiet. Wink Also please remember none of the flavor text that Auraya places in the descriptions is supposed to be taken to mean anything other than what it is, flavor.]

Thes didn't wake in the middle of the night to the horrid scratching outside her window, because she was passed out on the common room floor from too much drink. After hearing about the weirdness of the night before, she went home and put small bits of dried bat brains into a small dish, and set it out on the stoop, as one would for the neighborhood cat.

Afterwards, on her way about the town, she hears Ithilwien accusations, and approaches.
"You seem quick to accuse me... but have you any evidence?

I too was interested to see both Bartok, and Selos point at me on the first vote, and thought it may be a sign as to who were the humans. But with Selo's passing and proving he was a real dwarf it is clear those votes were merely coincidence.

I see Dspn 23 also found the same pattern, but came to a different conclusion than me.  Even though Bartok continues his suspicions of me, I don't see him as being suspicious.

However, it is interesting to note that no one died last night. Did the blacksmith come through on who the humans were targeting? Were the humans or the Archeologist too distracted to take action last night? Did the master of the house cancel either the Assassin or the Archeologist?

I think tonight's actions will be very telling. I doubt the humans will target me, because it would be easier to fuel the fires of suspicions and get me lynched versus killing me when they could target another dwarf. So if the blacksmith is listening, do not waste your action protecting me, use whatever information you gleaned from the no kills last night to inform what action you should take.

As for my vote for Moka, my dear friend has not been acting herself recently. I do not know if this is just a reaction to the stressful situation, or something more telling. Time will tell.

However, for reasons of my own, I am starting to suspect Elflark. If for whatever reason I am lynched tonight (or otherwise killed) look to him for your answers. I believe he may have some. "

With that soliloquy Thes wanders off, picking a random flower, herb or bug (and perhaps her nose) as she goes along.

After sitting thinking and rethinking things in her head it occurred to Ithilwien that the reason that Ozy was unsuccessful in his attempt to get into Thes home was that maybe the blacksmith had been there and not that the queen had interrupted him/it. Maybe she had made a mistake but what is done is done and if Thes is not a human hopefully others have a less narrow minded opinion and she is not lynched
"I will not be able to live with myself if my mistake takes a dwarven life" she says under her breath as she walks out of the tavern to be alone with her thoughts

[I am not good at these sort of games, sometimes the obvious doesn't occur to me! sorry sorry]

Hali sat up in an all too familiar state, Head pounding and memories from the night before slowly pouring back into his head. He remembered sitting in the tavern later than usual trying to think of anything at all to base his vote off having vowed to not stay neutral any more.

cautiously standing up he replayed the night, or what he could recall of it over and over trying to remember who he voted for. Slowly it crept back in to his mind that he had voted Forraid, sitting in the tavern she had cut a lonely figure and seemed to be more distrusting than he himself felt. It wasn't much to go on but with so little else he felt it better than nothing.

He slowly got ready and decided to head to the tavern, still feeling slightly guilty at not having a better reason for his vote hoping to catch the Queen declare the votes. The thought of his vote possibly being the one to condemn Forraid sat uneasy with him but he decided there was nothing left to do for now but to go to the tavern and hope for the best.
