A scout reports nothing unusual on the square, and an army returns without combat. Sending a somewhat larger occupying army. ... And having a new look at the goal of the tournament. :P

I am not sure what the captain of the guard hopes to do about it, but his idea seems to be that the more troops occupying the corrupted square, the better. Sort of completely opposite tactics to the feeding of Audrey but lacking other information I hereby suggest that supporters start sending troops to occupy the tentacles as well. I do NOT want all troops removed from the town, though, in case something goes bump in the night.
Also, Bimodas suggestion that we occupy also adjacent squares to the tentacle seems valid. ... Crossing my fingers that the next thing that happens is not that another tentacle appears the next full moon... Edited by Nesse - 07 Nov 2014 at 01:09 |

Since my troops are so far from home at Ivory Hall, I will leave them there for the 4-7 days remaining in the occupy.

I would also suggest anyone with the corrupted squares to send different units at the fortunetellers now to see if there is a different message.

Nesse,
Also, if you're calling for forces to occupy other squares, make sure that everyone is NAP'd who will be on the same square, otherwise, it could be a mess. |

With this new set of tentacles coming up next to players towns I would assume that the attack will arrive very shortly. Referring to a previous message from the fortune teller (I think it was her but can't actually find the mail again on these forums....) that said there would be a "few scant hours" of notice. Maybe these appearing are such warnings and therefore we should be reinforcing the towns instead of trying to occupy those squares?
Just my theory on the significance of the tentacle squares.

The tentacles will produce the troops from the local population - attack likely soon - my view.

I have sent mostly defensive troops. But with an encampment next to the city, I wonder if this will be at all like a siege -- and whether the city will have to sally forth to defeat the "encampment." Only speculation on my part, of course. If so, we may have the wrong kind of troops in the cities.
Have people tried scouting the tentacles?
