World has not changed yet. It may change within the next 9 days. So I'm guessing your settlers are going to take that long to get there?

You might wish to leave your city where it is rather than move it. There are advantages for doing so in that the existing terrain you have directly around your city (and your sovereign squares) is likely to contain more diversity than somewhere else on the map.

I probably missed out on something in the info, but could someone explain why I should expect more diversity if I stay put?

GMs,
Three questions on this:
1. The 'not within 10 squares of another player' restriction - there are a lot of inactive (especially 0 pop) "players" in the game. Are these considered "players" in terms of the restriction? Will there be exceptions for inactive players?
2. Will I be able to move my city a short distance (eg. 2 squares) without having to worry about the 10 square restriction? Right now I have a city that has an inactive city right beside it so if there are no exceptions to this rule for inactives/0 pop cities then I will have to destroy this city and any others within 10 squares of where I want to go?
3. Will it be possible to have conflicts with city moves (eg. player 1 wants 20:20 but player 2 also wants 20:20 - if they both select it at the same time what happens)?
Thanks!

Towns at zero pop that have not been active in 1 week will not prevent you from settling near them; other towns that have been inactive over 4 weeks will not prevent you from settling near them.

Thanks bartimeus - I must have missed that one in the 11 pages of posts!
I hate being "that guy" that asks a question that's already been answered!

I understand the 10 square distance rule. However, I have a question in regards of a twist to the rule. The twist to the rule is a non-allied player has already settled in a square, if a non-allied player decided to send a settler within the 10 squares of the location, would a player then be able to move to that area once the settler has settled? Non-allied player is already in location, non-allied player to that existing player decides to send a settler to a location a square away from that non-allied player. Once the settler makes the new settlement, can that player then move an existing town to that area within 10 squares of the non-allied player even though you have put up a new settlement there?

I skimmed through the pages and didn't find an answer to this, though I may have missed it. When I go to move my city, does it need to be placed on a square with the same resources as the one it's currently on? Cause if that's the case, it'll be really hard to move my cities closer to each other, since my main city is in a mass of hills and my other cities are on plains.

Brids, you take your city and its resources with you, so whatever you have now is what you will have if you move.
