         Hey i wasn't actually thinking that the gate house and the wall acts independently, I was thinking that walls become even more effective however there are more options to take down the walls, and different paths, rather than just adjusting the defence values the game computes the path of least resistance according to the defensive structures and siege units, Ie, low level gatehouse, no murder holes then the attacking army will go through the gate house and the wall level is irrelevent.
