What are ribs, hearts and vertebras used for in crafting. I looked at
http://www.puzzleslogic.com/illy/crafting.html but no use is listed.

A lot of the animal parts have no current use. Same goes for a lot of the rare herbs and rare minerals. That aspect of the game has never been finished.

Not all parts of all things are useful. Some may have a use in the future. Some may not. It is a reflection of reality. I wouldn't necessarily call it an unfinished state of the game.

about 80% of stuff has no current use.
the last new uses were brought in to create scrolls for trading prestige.
