Killing commanders

         Do commander deaths grant any experience to the commanders attached to the opposing parties?  Commander experience is currently tied to unit kills, but as commanders are getting more and more substantial with lvl 65 behemoths running around and some with several thousand attack, such an accomplishment should earn experience proportional to the strength of the commander killed.

I place this here instead of in suggestions for now because for all I know commander strength is already taken into account via the attack/defense scoring and/or granting of experience that is (I think) tied to it.
