The HOC appeared about a year before the anatomies appeared in the game. If anatomies are the solution to the HOC then it was a pretty cruel implementation schedule...

But it WAS giving us those tentacles, which would imply it is in fact related to it. I just wonder when they'll get around to actually making them do something, I can only imagine it'd be something extremely powerful, otherwise feeding it wouldn't be worth it.

Well there are plenty of anatomies now that can't do anything. Also weren't you able to get tentacles before they were tradable?
Maybe the HOC is really just this thing sitting over in the corner of the map and it really don't do anything.

I've sent cotters, skinners, miners and herbalist to the HOC, they've all come back unharmed without any messages.

Oh god I never considered that we may have to send a tentacle to a different spot on the map. So screwed if thats the case
Maybe temple of reason let them study it lol.
