I disagree. yes, this game other aspects of it that do not revolve around war but that doesn't mean it's still not a war game.

In World of Warcraft, the idea to kill things, be it players or NPCs. Is that all you can do? No, you can trade, chat with random people, make friends, gain levels in skills, etc. Does that change that the primary focus of WoW is to kill things? No.

Look at your city. What does your vault do? Protects resources from attack. What do your walls do? Increase the defensive bonus of your troops in case of attack. What does the consulate do? Builds diplomatic units. What does every single "diplomatic" unit have to do with? War. Whether it's assassins, thieves or scouts if you're caught using them on players most people consider it an act of war. Every single thing in the barracks revolves around war. Your spear maker, fletcher, forge, blacksmith, saddle maker, seige workshop, book binder, tannery and brewery all focus on building advanced resources for what purpose? To build troops or diplomatic units. The majority of your spells do what? Protect you or negatively effect other players. What is a NAP? It's a Non-Aggressive Pact, in other words, it's an agreement to not attack or wage war with that alliance.

Are there aspects of this game that do not revolve around war? Yes. Does that mean it's not a war game? No. The majority of everything in this game revolves around building troops or "diplomatic" units that aren't so diplomatic, protecting yourself from attacks and attacking/negatively effecting other players.

I think that the phrase  'You never truly grow up' has never been more true than here.
