Goonie's attacking players for no reason!!

Why are the aggressors always the ones telling the defenseless players (about to be destroyed in game) that it is only a game? I am sure if the roles were reversed, you would not have the same 'it is just a game' approach as you do ending the game for a player.

I am sorry but anyone that throws out 'it is just a game' pretty much shows their lack of intelligence to me. This game is a hobby and to some it is more than that. Who are you to say how a person should react in a situation? Games like these bring about such an attachment to some players.

The fact 'it is just a game' does not give an aggressive player the right to do whatever they want in game without right or wrong.

I remember you said the same thing to Gigi, I am pretty sure he did not like the 'it is just a game comment'.

As for GOON being some sort of brand, I suspect anyone knowingly talking about GOONs in other games is mistaking someone else for us.  If you read our alliance history, you can see that this is only the third game that Goonies have played together, and I can say it is the only one where we are known as "GOON" so far. This is the second of three where we travelled together as a group, our first game being the one where we met, and the fourth one a game we began just recently. In every game that we have played we have supported the game community in a big way, as we have players who spend their entertainment dollars on the game, and in every game we meet new friends and pick up new members who join with us in other communities. We have probably gained the most new members in Illyriad, compared to any other game, with only a core group of maybe 25% of us that played with us before Illyriad. Our brand is "Goonies" as in the movie, and pirates as a fun theme, sticking together and working for one goal en masse is our general strategy.

We protect our own and part of any game is sizing up your enemy before attacking. If you injure one of us, you injure all of us, but we are not the aggressors. If players, defenseless or not, poke at us, we will find them out, write to them, and try diplomacy first. We also keep our confederates apprised of any actions involving outsiders, how that gets twisted into asking them for help, I have no clue. I can only guess that people who think that have no notion of what diplomacy is really about.

Are you seriously making assumptions on what Goons are like in this game based on what Goons are like in *completely different games*? Cause it seems like that's what's influencing your opinion here. Unless Goon has done something else to make you feel this way, you seem to be judging them based on one thread and some past experiences with completely different people. Seems like a pretty close minded judgmental thing to do to me.

No way, no how. Never heard of them.

Just to be clear, we are Goonies in every game we play. I have seen Goonies that were not us in other games as well, and we are not anything else in any game.
