Currently, all armies are despatched for a fixed term of up to 15 days. This can be limiting and difficult to micro-manage for long-term occupation.
Suggestion:
Garrison
This option will appear on the Military > Orders drop-downs, resulting in a party comprising:
- at least one settler.
- an army large enough to defend the spot.
- One Garrison Support building in the city, per Garrison outpost (e.g. level determines how many armies are supported)
The only benefits to a Garrison are:
- The garrisoned army does not need to return home after 15 days. It does not allow missions to be launched from the garrison.
- A small defence bonus.
Some other details which might spice up the action:
- Garrisons may be sieged. They quickly build to L20, and repair damage according to the number of settlers present.
- Garrisons may be reinforced, but each army needs one settler unit to remain.
- Raid/Attack: After all army units are eliminated, the settler units become vulnerable to attack.
