Thank you for taking time to read about the Free Defense Union.  My goal for this alliance is to make it the perfect alliance for newbies who can learn to play the game and develop their towns in peace without being bullied by established players.  A second goal would be to help other alliances by training possible recruits.  If you have an alliance looking to recruit players but don't want the burden of a bunch of weak beginner towns, send them to my alliance first.  I'll train them and send them to you when they've got a feel for the game.  Contact me if you are a newbie and want help growing and some added protection or contact me if you are interested in helping new players either by teaching them or protecting them with you're own army.

NAP offers welcome from any alliance.

So a sort of academy alliance for the others. Sounds like a pretty good alliance

Does this mean FDU will remain completely neutral?  If so, I applaud the effort and wish you the best of luck.  I can tell you it's full-time work fending off thoughtless attacks by non-aligned opportunists.  But if FDU conducts itself well, I expect you will find others willing to defend your cause.

I definitely intend for the alliance to remain neutral.  I say intend, because part of training will be training in warfare and "diplomacy".  The obvious targets are neutrals, but if the oppurtunity presents itself, the alliance might join a war against a dying alliance (e.g. an alliance badly losing a war).  I definitely would not work against an alliance using FDU services.

As a new alliance, i'm admittingly still defining it's role in the Illyriad world.  I'm still keeping true to my original intents, but just expanding it a bit.  I have an even grander vision than indicated below that will be for the good of all alliances.  There is lots of work to be done though and I will reveal that vision when the time is right.

Free Defense Union

War is good for business. Peace is good for business. Especially for a dwarf. We all need arms (you were born with two) whether it be wartime or peacetime. Shrapnel is your dwarf. What he may lack in legs, he more than makes up for in arms.

As leader of the Free Defense Union, Shrapnel is a trader at heart, but he believes in excellent Customer Service and that means helping fledgling towns learn the ways of the world and when they are ready, sending them off to prosper. If you want to get ahead in this world, whether it be to learn or recruit, consider the Free Defense Union.
