Hey, Ill try to make this brief and to the point.
Since Illyriad was advertised via Facebook we have seen a massive influx of players in Illyriad - Good. A large portion of these players loose interest with the game within a few weeks and leave a vast littering carpet of dead cities from the center and to the periphery - Bad. I realize that it is up to us to change the demographic features of Illyriad, but I dont think you (devs) are giving us a fair shake as the incoming hordes of players exceed the rate at which I and other capable players can remove inactives. Add to that that once we have cleaned up an area somewhat it quickly becomes repopulated by additional new players looking for a less crowded place than the center spawning ring, the task quickly becomes insurmountable for individual players to undertake. The result is that moving cities in general becomes very difficult as this "inactive blanket" reduces the options for resettling cities drastically - diminishing the benefits of exodus considerably if not nearly entirely. Now I realise that it benefits the game to have a steady stream of fresh players moving in, but cant we agree that accounts inactive for 2 months get auto deleted? It seems entirely unfeasible that a player who has no interest in the game in that period AT ALL, will ever achieve any meaningful existence in the game. I mean, how much effort does it take to log on once every 60 days - honestly? Otherwise this "blessing" will end up killing a large part of the game enjoyment and frustrate the heck out of players trying to find positive accomodations for their active members in general. The game emphatically calls for a thorough and stern cleanup at this point. Regards Edited by Tordenkaffen - 28 Nov 2011 at 21:59 |

This has been addressed, however it's a bit of a one for one, with inactive accounts clearing when new accounts are made. This should ensure that the number of inactives at least remains stable, even though it may not guarantee fewer of them overall.

Illy souls are limited. For each new Illyrian, an inactive Illyrian is removed.
Mwhahaha! My evilness knows no bounds!

I think its a counterproductive way to handle things. It solves nothing, it merely gives the issue a slightly different form.
Basically you can reduce it to this: That new players cant move very well because of trash - inactive unproductive irrelevant trash. And if we had a chance of ridding the map of these accounts at a seemingly equal/faster pace than the constant funnelling of members the problem wouldnt be so great, but we are DROWNING IN THEM! Theres not just numerous accounts, there are way too many - Christ just look at the density in the spawning circle its ridiculous. All just to shield the feelings of a player who made an account and left again - Why are active players paying the price for this? How can it ever benefit the game and the contributing players that the map is littered with inactive husks? Put in a more cheeky way, why am I as a singular player expected to do an incredibly time consuming job simply to handle the game maintenance that the dev's should be able to do easily themselves? At least I hope its easy for them but I don't know if they can kick out accounts based on inactivity or if they have to do it one account at the time. Since the Facebook adds began, Illyriad has been spammed with accounts - Why is there not taken any action on this? Who gives a .... about the deletion of an 2 month inactive account and why is this allowed to ruin our fun of the game? It all comes off as very poorly thought out and I don't understand how the present situation could have been the goal of the developers. No disrespect intended to anyone but as stated above this has been brought up numerous times, and still the problem very much persists with no effective initiatives being introduced. It will choke the game to death eventually. Edited by Tordenkaffen - 29 Nov 2011 at 20:59 |

well every player with just a city and less than 2pop would be deleted after 50 days
however if the player lost every city and gets a 0 pop city would be automaticly deleted untill loged in and once it does the same rules aplie
(this also prevents the efect of bounce)

I mean no offense Saj, but many people are visiting Illy the same way they would use an app on FB - they get on once or twice to check it out and leave again. I realise it has done much for Illy to have that kind of exposure but I think the price has been high.
I hope to hear a devs perspective on this when they get the time. Cheers all. |

I just think they also need to make suspended players kicked from alliances. Instead of letting the alliance keep them in their ranks to have a higher pop ranking. There are some alliances that have suspended players totaling almost 90k pop and this makes me wonder why we even rank alliances off population.
