Cheaper Crafted Items

I'm not sure I understand. Most of these items are being sold at a 2x markup from their material costs. Wild dog bone is 700. Silversteel 20k, earth salts 165k. I'd hardly call a 50% profit margin unhealthy or a huge bargain. The proposed sell prices haven't been accepted because they are silly. However, the history shows that realistic buy and sell transactions have happened. For example, I sold a couple thousand reinforced chainmail today at 4000.

I would happily equip crafted items on my hunting troops when the cost of the item is less than the bonus * unit build cost. For example, I'd equip all my elite cavalry with Boar Spears when the item price is less than 36% of 2 spears, 2 saddles, 2 horses, 1 chain, 1 plate. (36% because the elite division doubles the 18%). Even if the item is lost with hunter deaths, that's still more cost effective than using extra cavalry.

Incidentally, barbarian swords are expensive because scaled charger vertebrae are also used for plains spears, which are extremely popular for elite cavalry formations and plains city defense. The vertebrae are themselves costly because scaled chargers don't drop many when they are killed.

there is a trade forum section somewhere that this might fit well in.  Not a problem that it is here, but it would be great to use the Trade forum more.
