Both are great but Skyrim edges it if only on scale.... can't wait for elder scrolls online.

I liked the Oblivion gates but I ended up getting sidetracked and would close too many optional gates and then stray away from the main quest-line. I would probably have been a mass murderer in that game if not for the trigger happy guards. The economy was painful.
In Skyrim, the dragons were a nice feature but I felt they did not really add anything of value. I tended to use ranged weapons though and would stay away from the flames. The economy felt like it worked better in Skyrim rather than Oblivion.
I never used the DLC's.

It's a difficult choice because both games have their pros and cons. Skyrim has the better side quests in my opinion. I really liked the Companions and the choice of becoming a werewolf, the dark brotherhood was as enjoyable as ever in both games although I did miss the arena fighting. The setting of civil war was also very good as well. Oblivion had the more interesting main quest in my opinion fighting the the mythic dawn was very good. Closing the gates was less annoying than fighting random dragons. In terms of DLC's its a drawn in my opinion, both the dawnguard and Shivering isles were well put together... It's to close to call!

Both Skyrim and Oblivion are consolified bulls**t, Morrowind was a superior game in all aspects except graphics. My vote goes to neither skyrim or oblivion.
