it would be great and probably more realistic if you changed the amount of space etc a gold coin take on a caravan since its usually not very often that a gold coind take as much place as a saddle =) and in that case you can trasport more of the smaller rescources (gold, books, Beer) with it taking less space in the caravans

Could we also have the ability to recall a caravan the way we can other some other units (i.e. within 2 minutes). I find I sometimes send two batches of caravans to the same place by accident, and it's not obvious until I see the outgoing summary, and then it's too late.

1 gold does not necessarily = 1 gold coin. Could be 1 gold sack or stack or something which, given the weight of gold, is likely a substantial commitment.

Gold is very heavy, much heavier than wood for example. I think that the way it is now is fine. There are units of gold, wood, iron, whatever. And these can be based on weight, volume, color, taste, who cares -- you can transport the same amount of units of everything.
