How about asking participator to resign from alliance for the tournaments time instead of tearing down hole alliance touching Non-aggression pacts/confederations. Or perhaps there would be some special changes for Tournaments from GMs?

They can be reinstated later. If you think your current NAPs/Confeds are going to turn on you with this off... you got a problem.
Also. If someone makes a point of making trouble to effected alliances... hmm... there could be help provided by non-participants in one form or another.
But eh, GMs are considering making special exceptions to this IF this sort of tournament stuff is a hit I believe.

Sign me up, I will join some random guy for the list of 10!
I think it would much easier for a player to leave their alliance for this tournament instead of having his or her alliance get rid of a nap or confederation for the sake of a tournament. I will leave my alliance for the tournament and then rejoin them after it is done.

Yes, this tournament is a player runned thing afterall. GM's are far to busy with devloping other things as T2 and factions atm. But if this tournament is a succes and gets good feedback I guess GM's will concider making a tournament themselfs that won't need human eyes to watch for cheaters etc. (if GM's not allraidy concider making a tournament mod)
Thats why we need players to play this tournament and get out the most fun. At first I thought this tournament will just be a wast of troops. But as you see now, the pot is still rising and its totally worth it to join this tournament ;-) Also the winner will be the first player in Illyriad to control a small army of monsters.

Okay, slightly changed the rules to allow people to drop from their alliance instead.

Question: what sort of restrictions pretaining to Armies are there, if any? One army from one city? All the armed forces you can possibly muster up?

From what I figure, all the cities, but that disparity may be too much for some of the smaller players signing up if one of your girth sits about 3-4 cities worth of troops in one spot.
I'll let Grunk confirm that.

I only asked since i have a feeling if all troops from all cities are allowed then much larger ppl would be able to pile in Vast armies and the rest of us will beat on it's entrenched positions to no avail.
Maybe troops from 2 cities at most. That way someone can send in some serious manpower and still be able to protect his cities with the garrions from his remaining cities (thinking in terms of someone who would drop himself from his alliance in order to take part in this tournament.
Also, will there be some sort of custom unique banner we'd be able to put on our profiles to prove that we Participated/WON the tournament, as symbols of honour and so on and so forth?

Custom Art Donation requested, any takers?
Or you can pre-make one. But the custom one is more cool.

*on behalf of Warrrgh Boss. Although he couldn't be at the keyboard personally, he's still around... I think he's re-living his memories of the first elf he ate or something*
I'm going to do my best to recreate his speec-- Er, never mind.
Warrrgh Boss and me (both of FDU) would like to pledge our help in safeguarding this tourney against those who seek to spoil the fun of all for the joy of few.
I'll mostly be fulfilling my duty as a board member of the Officio Assassinorum, along with providing sapper support, whereas the greenskin and his engines of destruction can be more... persuasive in... persuading the good citizenry of the offending player to go settle somewhere else.

Yes indeed, we are busy with other things - but we are also watching this with very keen interest, and if it works and people like the idea then we may put together something more formal. What we're thinking of doing is building a brief framework in which players (rather than us) can organise these tournaments.
One thing I've discussed with the dev team - and is a fairly easy implementation for this tournament (with the code reusable for other similar types of tournament) - is a "Tournament Summary" on the Herald, which will give data on who is occupying the square and how long they've been there.
When the tournament player list fills up a bit further, we'll slot the coding in and make this visible to all.
Best,
SC
