Topic: alliance tax Posted: 07 Jun 2013 at 13:58 |

i notice that alliance is able to tax each of their members. personally i believe this to be a good alliance tool. often funds are used to purchase items as a group that a single player would not be able to. i use these funds to help smaller alliance members. i personally would love that the alliance tax would include the option of taxing prestige also. again i believe this would promote more team play. what are others thoughts and reasons to use or not use alliance tax? again please be polite and try to stay on topic...thanks!

I regard Alliance taxes on Prestige (spent or bought) as a no-go area, because it's too close to being real money, and players need to transparently see what they're getting during Prestige purchases.
Instead players can
voluntarily contribute prestige to the alliance, and they can do this now.

BSHx doesn't even tax gold and I doubt we would consider taxing prestige if this option was made available. The current option of voluntarily contributing prestige would suffice I believe. If a prestige tax was made compulsary it will reduce the number of players, as not everyone buys prestige. Also creating 'prestige' only alliances would cause division within Illy Imho.

To be honest I think most alliances wouldn't use prestige tax if it was there. And those alliances that did make this shift would see a loss of many players.
I'm not opposed to the idea because if my alliance chose to tax prestige I could just leave. But I don't think creating it really adds to the game.

People pay real money for prestige. An alliance that tried to siphon it away would quickly lose most of its prestige paying players, and for good reason. Twilights, if you want some prestige for your alliance, I recommend buying it and donating it for alliance usage. It's also available for tournament victories.

some people will never pay to play no matter what you call it. just like anything it has it's pros and cons. my vote is no to alliance tax.

maybe the game should reward the alliance a prestige point at the same time it rewards the player for log in. this would make the alliance prestige pool a more important factor in all alliances instead of just favoring alliances that have members willing to donate..also maybe the game should match funds the alliance gets from alliance tax...it sounds like this aspect of the game does not have even play with all alliances. there should be more functions that encourage playing the game on a regular basis..more team play.... especially when the players reach the max amount of castles or are waiting for long build times to be accomplished....lets have an awesome active game!

Actually I love the idea that you can 'claim' a reward for the alliance. 1 pres for you, 1 pres for the alliance :D

That would seem to favor large alliances. They already have an advantage, in that they have many players who can collect and donate their prestige. Such a policy might also encourage the use of bots or excessive alt accounts.

A large alliance has to spread its prestige pool over a bigger number to.
If an alliance of 100 people each donate 1 prestige. Then the alliance has 1 prestige per person.
If an alliance of 10 people each donate 1 prestige. The alliance still has 1 prestige per person.
As for bots and excessive alt accounts there are already plenty of reasons those our 'encouraged'
Although I still would like to see things that you could do to help out the alliance. Doesn't have to be prestige but perhaps another form of alliance daily bonus.
