For some reason, reports don't tell you how many diplos are in the army. I'm reinforcing with a large number of thieves but it only tells me the military :P How very useful.. *sighs*

Your reinforcements for Arreisari (Vivera) have arrived

I believe the diplos will be included in the total on the troop movements screen.  Haven't reinforced with diplos in a while, so someone else would need to confirm this.  Also, on your diplo screen it should make note of how many diplos you have assigned to armies.

I personally rather like the idea that scout reports do not contain reports of diplos; it makes "guessing" whether and what types of diplo reinforcements may or may not be accompanying a reinforcing army sort of interesting.  (Although I agree it is more trouble for the person who sent them.)

The raw unit count does not help me know the breakdown among diplo types.  Plus, it makes me do maffs from different screens.

I don't mind scout reports not revealing defending diplos, but I should be able to see the details of my own armies at any time.

I've often grated my teeth when my own armies are listed on the map with size Unknown. Shouldn't I know the size of my own forces?
