Topic: accessing Illyriad from a phone. Posted: 20 Sep 2010 at 20:04 |
I remember reading in the forum that some people access Illyriad with their phone, but I lack the motivation to search for it. anyway this topic migth help other people.
I will soon need to change phone myself and cann't decide which new one to get.
Could anyone allready doing that help me please.
I'm looking for something that could use a wifi connection (not 3G) and the capacity to play illyriad.
Obviously the Iphone would work, but it is off my budget.
Any other form of tricks, astuce and the like, reguarding how you navigate quicly througt the game are also greatly appreciated.

Works fine on the HTC Incredible. the last line of chat gets partially hidden under the chat msg entry box, but after a while, you can sorta make out what is said by figuring out the tops of the tall letters. besides that, selecting boxes is a little pain as the touch isn't always perfect, specially with the small drop down menus on the top of the page...again, it gets some getting used to.
Also, you're not going to find a smartphone that's wifi only without paying dearly to get it unlocked. Carriers usually charge for that 3g/4g connection and won't let you cancel it without paying the early termination fee(there's some ways around it though, but thats for another day). You might be better off getting an android tablet and a regular cell phone though, but that is something that personal preference and cost will decide.

Thank you. I ended up following a friend's advice and got myself a samsung wave.
It works fine for me, including chat, but takes about 5 second to load each page.
I hope the new UI will still work this fine.

I play from an HTC Thunderbolt (but I don't have 4G in my area). Works great for everything except world map navigation.

My wave doesn't work anymore since the new UI...
When I log on, it just loads the login page again...
