So, as I understand following the Heavy Warhorse:
Example: the Heavy Warhorse:
+5% attack, -5% move speed, +10% Carry,
-5% on hills, mountains; in forests, Arctic, Desert, and Jungle
If you attack on a hill in jungle you get a total bonus (malus) of -5%, right?
Another issue (not sure if it has already been answered), is that as I understand troops (and commanders) can be equiped with 1 armour, 1 weapon and 1 horse. But the armour and weapon are troop specific.
So a spearmen unit will need to be equiped with leather and a spear.
A knights that uses both chainmail and plate is gonna be able to choose, right?
But then, this knight can only have a spear as a weapon, right? No sword? :(
Thanks,
TH

Regarding the newly released equipment, I noticed a few unclear stats.

To all attack and defence values (The adjustments are additive and applied to base unit stats - before other bonuses). |
So is that +5% increase on everything, then a -5% decrease on hills, mountains; in forests, Arctic, Desert, and Jungle, meaning they cancel each other out and there is no decrease or increase on said areas?
Or is it a +5% attack on everything that is not hills, mountains; in forests, Arctic, Desert, and Jungle and then a -5% on them?
Perhaps these should be reworded to make them more understandable.

These are unit stat adjustments - after which are then applied things like terrain, divisional bonuses etc. So the other bonuses (added together) multiply the equipment bonuses.

This is incorrect ThunderCat because the +5% is only in attack so they don't quite cancel each other.

I answer in order:
- no, you get a total bonus/malus of 0% on hills. First a generic +5% to attack anywhere, then a -5% because it's on hills. It means a total 0%.
edit: sorry I didn't see you wrote hills with jungle. In that case... I'm wondering too ^^
when there is no type of bonus stated it means it is a bonus/malus to attack and defense period. Otherwise it is stated what it applies to.
- the second question is a matter of speculation since equipping isn't live yet. From what I would assume you should be able to equip soldiers with any piece of armor used to train them. So if a knight is equipped with a chainmail and a platemail why should you chose which to give him? However, from the commander interface it looks like you can only equip them with one armor piece.

Correct
+5% (attack) - 5% (hill terrain) - 5% (jungle) = -5% (total attack)
Defense from any attacker would be -10% in that same location.

Again, correct (I think, see below)
If a unit is trained (built, produced, created, etc...) with more than one armor or weapon type (knight with chain and plate) then you can pick which type to equip, but only one type (chain
or plate). If a unit is not trained with a specific weapon or armor type (knight doesn't need sword) you can't equip that type.
Example, a Human Pikemen unit can equip [leather or chain] as their armor and [spear] as their weapon. There is no "spearmen" unit so I wasn't sure if you knew that some spear unit types had two types of armor and you could choose either to equip.
For humans, the following [
armor] and [
weapon] types can be equipped:
Militiaman [leather] [spear]
Pikeman [leather or chain] [spear]
Archer [leather] [bow]
Longbowman [leather] [bow]
Swordsman [chain] [sword]
Man-At-Arms [chain or plate] [sword]
Charioteer [leather] [spear]
I think, someone help here
Knight [chain or plate] [spear]

I'm not sure about the phrasing of the question. Cav have always used horses. This thread is specifically talking about the future ability to equip the new crafted items.
With regard to that topic, human T1 chariots are cav and cav can equip
(or will be able to when the
equipping
gets implemented)
any of the cav horses:
- Heavy Warhorse
- Nimble Warhorse
- Steady Warhorse
And since they are human cav they can also equip:
after the player has researched 20 crafting items and "discovered" this horse.

Mhh, since charioteers only need horses, saddle and beer to train, and no armor or weapon, i wonder if, and what, they will be able to equip...

Troops that do not use armour can be equipped with leather armour. Troops that do not use any weapon can be equipped with spears. Or Luna said in chat once.
